Yankee Stadium is a baseball park located in Concourse, Bronx, New York City. It is the home field for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB), and New York City FC of Major League Soccer (MLS).
The stadium incorporates replicas of some design elements from the original Yankee Stadium, and like its predecessor, it has hosted additional events, including college football games, soccer matches, two outdoor NHL games, and concerts. The overall price tag makes the new Yankee Stadium the most expensive stadium ever built.
Like all modern arenas, Yankee Stadium was designed with sight lines in mind, so there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The upper deck of the new Yankee Stadium is now referred to as the “Grandstand” (400’s section) in the upper portion, and the “Terrace” (300’s section) in the lower portion. Many of the rows in the Grandstand are covered from the elements (roughly row 7 and higher), but the entire upper level of the stadium is open air, so when the weather is bad, it offers little protection against the cold or rain.
North Stand: Numerous sections of seating which stretch around the large video screen and iconic Yankee Stadium sign.
East Stand: This section is where the u-shaped section of seating begins and it wraps itself around the pitch.
South Stand: The main seating for the general public is spread out across a colossal structure which spans three sides of the ground and three tiers of seating or even four if you include some of the VIP sections which overhang the pitch rather precariously on the top-floor.
West Stand: The Western stand stretches back around to the area where the video screen is located. If you want the closest seats to the pitch for soccer matches avoid anything central which is accessed via gate 2.
Supporters of the oppositions team are primarily housed within sections 223 and 224 of the stadium, however as is customary in US sports fans of both sides are likely to sit together in other sections of the ground.
New York is famous for its diverse culinary options and inside the Yankee Stadium this is certainly reflected with fans served a vast array of dining options. Of course, classic stadium fare such as hot dogs, hamburgers and popcorn all remain staple items on sale.
There is a McDonald's directly across the street from the gates, as well as local vendors on the sidewalks selling hot dogs and other street foods. Within a few blocks on any side of Yankee Stadium are many small restaurants, bodegas, and delis that can provide cheap sit-down eats before or after a game. Several local bars also welcome Yankees' fans or foes before, during, and after games. Once you get to the Yankee Stadium there are loads of points where you can purchase a beer or soft drink from. Stan's Sports Bar has been a local favourite for years. It is across the street from the footprint of the original stadium, an easy walk to the current stadium.
Parking in the Bronx is a nightmare unless you utilize a service like Parking Panda. Public transport options are excellent, and Uber is also a great way to avoid parking stresses. There are no official parking lots attached to Yankee Stadium. You are on your own in the Bronx. Like any major city driving in New York is notoriously chaotic due to the large amounts of congestion, however the parking situation could be a lot worse with the existence of 10 or so parking lots near to the ground.
The most stress-free choice for affordable parking at the Yankee game is using Parking Panda. This lets you find a spot ahead of time and reserve it, so you know exactly where you are going. Most locals will select from the various public transport options available for Yankee Stadium, avoiding the congestion of driving in the Bronx. The cheapest option available is to ride the subway to the 161 St. Yankee Stadium stop. The green 4 line runs north from Grand Central Station to connect to points beyond. The orange B and D lines run down the West Side.
