A midweek trip to Manchester for my 5th trip to The Etihad and it ended in heartbreak, Sterling sealing the win for City in the 96th minute. Undeserved.
Sterling's 13th goal of the season gave City a club-record 12th successive Premier League victory at The Etihad which restores their eight-point lead at the top of the table.
Sterling had scored decisive late goals in City's previous two wins, over Feyenoord and Huddersfield, but his third strike of the week was his most dramatic of the lot, and sparked wild celebrations from City boss Pep Guardiola and his bench.
We came agonisingly close to stopping the City juggernaut, and certainly feel like we deserved to leave the Etihad with a point. It might even have been more had we taken our chances from corners in the first half, with Wesley Hoedt heading against the bar and Maya Yoshida firing over from close range. Heartbreak.
