The 2019/20 season gets underway with a pre season trip to Preston, to visit Deepdale for the first time. A deserved win, hopefully we can build momentum now.
We registered our first win of pre-season after Danny Ings’s first-half brace laid the foundations for a deserved victory at Preston at Deepdale.
There was a large slice of luck about our opener, as North End goalkeeper Connor Ripley rifled a clearance against Ings and watched the ball loop back over his head, but the hosts did not take long to draw level through Billy Bodin’s crisp strike.
We were the more creative force throughout, with Ryan Bertrand a constant menace down the left, and it was his cross that picked out Ings to head home in the final minute of the half. Teenage left-back Vokins killed the game by tapping in Redmond’s late cutback.
